UNICEF Quiz for Children 2013

It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since the 2013 Quiz.

We wanted to say a HUGE

to our sponsors, supporters, Quiz teams and volunteers

Your efforts mean that over  19,000€  was handed over to UNICEF Belgium to support their ‘Learning to Survive’ campaign.

This project provides schooling for children in emergency situations.

That amazing figure means that many children living in hazardous situations caused by wars or natural disasters will have gained access to education which may not otherwise have been available. That schooling not only offers education, but also a way forwards by providing access to food, water, sanitation, shelter and care and contributes to the reconstruction of the society as a whole, creating a sound base of trained and educated people who are better equipped to work towards a new and better future.

To remind those of you who took part, and for those who couldn’t make it on the night, here are some highlights from last year

(more information on the projects page)

This November also marks the

25th Anniversary

of the

UNICEF Convention on the Rights of the Child ( here  )

25 years ago UNICEF made a promise to children across the world to do

everything in our power to protect and promote their rights to survive and thrive, to learn and grow, to make their voices heard and to reach their full potential.’

So even more reason to take part this year so that we can help UNICEF strive to maintain that pledge.
